Abciximab  (Synonyms: C7E3)

Abciximab (C7E3), a chimeric mouse/human monoclonal antibody fragment, is a glycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa inhibitor. Abciximab inhibits platelet aggregation and leucocyte adhesion by binding to the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa, vitronectin and Mac-1 receptors^[1].

Abciximab (C7E3) inhibits platelet aggregation induced by physiologic and pathologic agonists by binding to the platelet α_IIbβ₃ integrin^[2].
Abciximab appears to have similar affinity for the α_IIbβ₃ and α_vβ₃ integrins and redistributes between them^[2].
