N-CBZ-Phe-Arg-AMC (Z-FR-AMC) is a cathepsin substrate used in assessment activity of lysosomal cathepsin enzymes[1][2].

In Vitro

N-CBZ-Phe-Arg-AMC (5 μM; 10-20 min) serves as a fluorescent substrate for trypsin, papain, and cathepsin B, enabling detection of apparent protease activity inhibition by myoglobin and hemin via reduced fluorescence signal[1].
