4-Epitetracycline hydrochloride is a reversible epimer of Tetracycline (HY-A0107) that can be interconverted in nature. 4-Epitetracycline hydrochloride exhibits antibacterial activity^[1][2].

4-Epitetracycline hydrochloride exhibits a relatively lower antibiotic activity in compared with Tetracycline, therefore has a limited application value as an antibiotic. 4-Epitetracycline hydrochloride is generally not used as an antibiotic, but as a model compound for studying the metabolism and epimerization reactions of tetracycline drugs^[1][2].
