Actinomycin D1 is an Actinomycin-class Antibacterial agent. Actinomycin D1 is isolated from the fermentation broth of sponge-associated marine Streptomyces sp. LHW52447. Actinomycin D1 potently inhibits the growth of MRSA strains P172, P175 and ATCC 33591, with MIC values of 0.125 μg/mL, 0.25 μg/mL and 0.125 μg/mL, respectively. Actinomycin D1 can be used in studies related to MRSA infections.

Fungal Metabolite

In Vitro

Actinomycin D1 (0-64 μg/mL; 24 h) potently inhibits the growth of MRSA strains P172, P175, and ATCC 33591 with MIC values of 0.125 μg/mL, 0.25 μg/mL, and 0.125 μg/mL, respectively[1].
Actinomycin D1 (0.1-30 μM; 48 h) exhibits cytotoxicity against WI-38 cells with an IC50 of 74 μM[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
