Handling Instructions Technical Support

Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium (18:1 Lyso-PS) is a modified PS product generated following NADPH oxidase activation and Lyso-PS signal transduction. 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium signals through macrophage G2A to enhance the phagocytic uptake of PS-dependent apoptotic (apoptosis) neutrophils and PS-exposed activated neutrophils. 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium enhances macrophage phagocytic uptake of apoptotic cells, carboxylate-modified microspheres, and PS-exposed non-apoptotic activated neutrophils. 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium serves as an acyl acceptor substrate for the lysophosphatidyltransferase At1g78690p to generate diacylphosphatidylserine. 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium reduces the secretion of IL-8 and decreases the proportion of viable colon cancer cells. 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium is applicable to studies on peritonitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

In Vitro

Pretreatment of RAW264.7 macrophages with 1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium (30 mol%; 1 h) increases the phagocytosis of COOH-modified apoptotic cell mimics by approximately 70%[1].
1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium (2 mM; 160 min at 37°C) serves as an efficient substrate for At1g78690p from *Arabidopsis thaliana* expressed in E. coli BLR (DE3) pLysS[2].
1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium (0-33 μM; 24 h)
reduces the viability of human colon carcinoma-derived epithelial HT-29 cells, but exerts no significant effect in the presence of LPS[3].
1-Oleoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine sodium (0-33 μM; 24 h) reduces interleukin-8 secretion in human colon carcinoma-derived epithelial cell line HT-29 under LPS-free conditions, but exerts no significant effect in the presence of LPS[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Cell Viability Assay[3]

Cell Line: human colon cancer-derived epithelial HT-29 cells
Concentration: 0.33, 1, 3.3, 10, 33 μM
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Decreased cell viability to a relative ratio of 0.81 at 33 μM in the absence of LPS.
Did not significantly alter cell viability at 33 μM in the presence of LPS.

ELISA Assay[3]

Cell Line: human colon cancer-derived epithelial HT-29 cells
Concentration: 0.33, 1, 3.3, 10, 33 μM

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
