Defensin HNP-3 human (8 mL acidified ethanol per g tissue; overnight, 20 min, 80 min) is present at 2- to 12-fold higher levels in human tongue oral squamous cell carcinoma tissue compared to paired autogenous non-tumour tongue tissue, and is localized to abundant neutrophils within tumour and stromal regions[1].
