In Vitro

Dimethyl biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (31.25-500 μg/mL; 24 h) exhibits cytotoxicity against HepG2 2.2.15 cells at concentrations exceeding 500 μg/mL[1].
Dimethyl biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (250 μg/mL; 5 days) strongly induces the expression of two interferon-stimulated genes, 6-16 and ISG12, in HepG2 2.2.15 cells, with the induction level of 6-16 comparable to that of IFN-α[1].
Dimethyl biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (250 μg/mL; 5 days) induces the expression of antiviral effector genes PKR and OAS in HepG2 2.2.15 cells[1].
Dimethyl biphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (30-300 μg/mL; 5-7 days) dose-dependently inhibits the expression of HBV pregenomic RNA in HepG2 2.2.15 cells, and the inhibitory effect is strong at the concentration of 300 μg/mL after 7 days of incubation[1].

Cell Line: HepG2 2.2.15 human hepatoblastoma cells stably transfected with genomic HBV DNA
Concentration: 250 μg/mL (non-cytotoxic dose); 500 μg/mL (cytotoxic dose)
Incubation Time: 24 h
Result: Exhibited cytotoxicity at concentrations over 500 μg/mL.
Showed reduced cytotoxicity at 250 μg/mL.
Matched control LDH levels at 250 μg/mL, identifying this as an effective, non-cytotoxic concentration.
