Germacrene B
Germacrene B is a central intermediate in sesquiterpene biosynthesis. Germacrene B has been ascribed a warm, sweet, woody-spicy, geranium-like odour and is an important flavour constituent of lime peel oil. Germacrene B is also one of the main constituents of the essential oils from different plants that have antibacterial activity.
