2′,3′-Dihydroxypuberulin is a naturally derived inhibitor of the FcεRI β-chain with FcεRI expression inhibitory activity in mast cells. 2′,3′-Dihydroxypuberulin suppresses the mRNA level of the FcεRI β-chain, blocks the assembly of the FcεRI tetramer, and reduces the cell surface expression level of FcεRI. 2′,3′-Dihydroxypuberulin can be used in studies related to type I allergic diseases.

2′,3′-Dihydroxypuberulin (compound 1) (30 μg/mL; 72 h) inhibits FcεRI surface expression on HMC-1 human mast cells by 49.0%, and its absolute configuration does not affect this activity^[2].
2′,3′-Dihydroxypuberulin (50-100 μM; 36 h) significantly down-regulates FcεRI β-chain mRNA expression without altering α-chain or γ-chain mRNA levels in HMC-1 human mast cells^[2].
