Hancockiamide C is biosynthesized via the hkm gene cluster, and heterologous expression of the full hkm gene cluster in A. nidulans results in its production, while the cytochrome P450 enzyme Hkm5 catalyzes the conversion of hancockiamide B to hancockiamide C in A. nidulans^[1].
