Glucoraphenin

Glucoraphenin, the predominant and orally active glucosinolate in radish sprouts, is hydrolyzed by myrosinase to sulforaphene that is implicated to exert anticancerogenic effects. Glucoraphenin induces xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes (XMEs).

Glucoraphenin (GRE, 24 or 120 mg/kg, orally) induces mainly CYP1A2 supported oxidase. Glucoraphenin (GRE, 24 or 120 mg/kg, orally) increases Glutathione S-transferase up to ∼3.2-fold after a single (lower) dose and UDP-glucuronosyl transferase up to ∼2-fold after four consecutive (higher) GRH doses^[2].
