Bifendate (DDB), extracted from Schisandrae chinensis, is an orally active anti-HBV agent against chronic hepatitis B. Bifendate inhibits ATG5-dependent autophagy and attenuates oleic acid-induced lipid accumulation with anti-oxidant properties in vitro.
