Cdx2 - caudal type homeobox 2 Gene
Also Known as Cdx-2
Species: Mus musculus
Summary
Enables DNA-binding transcription factor activity and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Involved in intestinal epithelial cell differentiation; positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and regulation of somitogenesis. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including endosome to lysosome transport; establishment or maintenance of epithelial cell apical/basal polarity; and in utero embryonic development. Located in condensed nuclear chromosome. Part of transcription repressor complex. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; early conceptus; embryo mesoderm; genitourinary system; and gut. Orthologous to human CDX2 (caudal type homeobox 2).
