(±)-Menthyl acetate inhibits growth of Gram-positive bacterial strains including Streptococcus mutans, Mycobacterium smegmatis, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis. (±)-Menthyl acetate is inactive against tested fungal strains. (±)-Menthyl acetate can be used in the research of Gram-positive bacterial infections .
