Isepamicin (Sch 21420) is an aminoglycoside antibacterial. Isepamicin has better activity against strains producing type I 6'-acetyltransferase. Isepamicin’s antibacterial spectrum includes Enterobacteriaceae and staphylococci. Anaerobes, Neisseriaceae and streptococci are resistant. Isepamicin exhibits a strong concentration-dependent bactericidal effect, a long post-antibiotic effect (several hours) and induces adaptive resistance .

ROS inducer 8 (Compound 11g) is the inhibitor for glutathione (GSH), that induces the ROS accumulation in Enterococcus faecalis, thereby exhibiting antibacterial activity. ROS inducer 8 disrupts the biofilm, inhibits S. aureus and E. faecalis with MIC of 8 μg/mL and 2 μg/mL, exhibits post-antibiotic effect. ROS inducer 8 exhibits low hemolytic toxicity to sheep erythrocytes (HC50 > 1280 μg/mL) .

KPC-2-IN-3 (Compound 3b) is a KPC-2 inhibitor with IC50 of 0.533  μM and Kiof 0.194  μM. KPC-2-IN-3 has an antimicrobial activity against carbapenem-resistant K. pneumonia K47-25 and reduces bacterial count with a postantibiotic effect in synergy with Meropenem (HY-13678). KPC-2-IN-3 significantly reduces lung bacterial load in a murine pneumonia model .

Topoisomerase Bacterial

Research Areas:

Infection

Topoisomerase II-IN-26 is a dual bacterial type II topoisomerase (Top II) inhibitor, with IC50 values of 0.081 μM and 0.093 μM against Staphylococcus aureus DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, respectively, and IC50 values of 0.906 μM and 0.103 μM against Escherichia coli DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, respectively. Topoisomerase II-IN-26 also shows high selectivity for human topoisomerase IIα. Topoisomerase II-IN-26 inhibits biofilm formation, reduces the metabolic activity of mature biofilms, exhibits activity against Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA strains, Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter baumannii, and possesses a post-antibiotic effect. Topoisomerase II-IN-26 can be used for the research of bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA .
