Rhizocarpic acid (Compound 2) is a secondary metabolite of lichen. Rhizocarpic acid is an antioxidant and an insect antifeedant with an ED₅₀ of 71 μmol/g dry weight against neonate larvae of the Egyptian cotton leaf worm Spodoptera littoralis.
