Antimicrobial agent-51
Antimicrobial agent-51 is an antifungal agent that increases ROS levels, reduces mitochondrial membrane potential, alters hyphal morphology, and impairs cell membrane integrity. Antimicrobial agent-51 inhibits succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) with an IC50 of 0.76 μg/mL against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Antimicrobial agent-51 exhibits control efficacy against Alternaria solani on tomato fruits and shows low toxicity to plant and mammalian cells. Antimicrobial agent-51 can be used for the research of plant fungal diseases.

Activité biologique
Antimicrobial agent-51 (compound 2f) (72 h) potently inhibits mycelial growth of Fusarium solani, Alternaria solani, Alternaria brassicae, Alternaria sp., Curvularia lunata and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides in vitro, with a mean EC50 of 0.478 μg/mL against these six fungi[1].
Antimicrobial agent-51 (0.4 mg/mL) disrupts the mycelial morphology and cellular ultrastructure of Alternaria brassicae, causing physical damage and cellular dysfunction; it significantly increases the ROS level in the mycelia of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides to induce oxidative stress; it reduces the mitochondrial membrane potential of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides mycelia, impairs membrane structural integrity, and increases the cell membrane permeability of mycelia[1].
Antimicrobial agent-51 inhibits succinate dehydrogenase activity in Colletotrichum gloeosporioides with an IC50 of 0.76 μg/mL, thereby disrupting fungal energy metabolism[1].
Antimicrobial agent-51 (12.5-200 μM, 12 h) exhibits low cytotoxicity against RAW264.7 mouse macrophages, with a cell viability rate of ≥88.7% at the highest concentration of 200 μM, indicating its safety to mammals[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
