Cinidon-ethyl
Cinidon-ethyl is a herbicide. Cinidon-ethyl blocks the conversion of protoporphyrinogen IX to protoporphyrin IX, disrupts the tetrapyrrole biosynthetic process, and leads to the accumulation of protoporphyrin IX and the generation of ROS. Cinidon-ethyl induces the expression of peroxidase and defense-related genes in wheat. Cinidon-ethyl triggers light-dependent ethylene and ethane release, tissue dehydration and necrosis in sensitive broadleaf weeds. Cinidon-ethyl is applicable to research related to the control of broadleaf weeds in wheat fields.

Actividad biológica
Cinidon-ethyl (50 g/L; 1-14 days) transiently induces the expression of defense-related genes and peroxidase genes in Greina, a spring wheat Triticum aestivum L. cultivar grown under controlled conditions[1].
Cinidon-ethyl (0.01 nM-0.1 mM) potently inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase activity in vitro, with I50 values of 0.75 nM, 0.94 nM and 1.30 nM against Galium aparine, Solanum nigrum and Triticum aestivum, respectively[2].
Cinidon-ethyl induces concentration-dependent accumulation of protoporphyrin IX, ethylene production, and reduction of leaf fresh weight in leaf discs of *Galium aparine* and *Solanum nigrum*, but shows no such effects in leaf discs of common wheat[2].
