DOPE-PEG2000-KTP

DOPE-PEG2000-KTP: surface modification of liposomes and nanoparticles for kidney-targeted drug delivery, applicable in treatment of kidney diseases including renal fibrosis, diabetic nephropathy, acute kidney injury, and kidney cancer.
Structural composition:
(1) DOPE; a phospholipid with two unsaturated oleoyl chains that anchors into lipid bilayers and provides fusogenic activity for endosomal escape;
(2) PEG2000; a hydrophilic polymer that creates a steric barrier reducing opsonization and RES clearance, prolonging circulation time;
(3) KTP peptide; a kidney-targeting peptide that specifically recognizes and binds to receptors or markers preferentially expressed on kidney cells (including renal tubular epithelial cells and podocytes), directing nanocarriers to kidney tissue for enhanced drug accumulation in renal compartments, improving therapeutic efficacy for kidney diseases while minimizing systemic exposure.
