Biological Activity
IMPDH2 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IMPDH2, expressed by E. coli , with C-6*His labeled tag. ,
IMPDH2 catalyzes the conversion of inosine 5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine 5'-phosphate (XMP), the first committed and rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides, thus playing a crucial role in regulating cell growth. It may also possess single-stranded nucleic acid-binding activity and could be involved in RNA and/or DNA metabolism. Additionally, IMPDH2 might contribute to malignancy development and tumor growth progression. by similar: potentially participates in RNA/DNA metabolism and tumor progression.
Measured by its ability to convert the substrate inosine-5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine-5'-phosphate (XMP). The specific activity is 175.17 pmol/min/μg.
