RAB2 Protein, Mouse (His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Rab2A belongs to the Rab family, it is a small molecular weight guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) and membrane-bound protein which involved in GTP binding and hydrolysis and are key regulators of intracellular membrane trafficking, from the formation of transport vesicles to their fusion with membranes, Rab2A is required for protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi complex as well. Rab2A also regulates the compacted morphology of the Golgi. RAB2 Protein, Mouse (His) is the recombinant mouse-derived RAB2 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-His labeled tag.

Rab2A belongs to the Rab family, members of which are small molecular weight guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) that contain highly conserved domains involved in GTP binding and hydrolysis and are key regulators of intracellular membrane trafficking, from the formation of transport vesicles to their fusion with membranes. Rab2A is a membrane-bound protein and a resident of pre-Golgi intermediates, and is required for protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi complex. Rabs cycle between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states. In their active state, drive transport of vesicular carriers from donor organelles to acceptor organelles to regulate the membrane traffic that maintains organelle identity and morphology. Rab2A also regulates the compacted morphology of the Golgi[1][2].
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using Hela cells. The ED50 this effect is 2.70 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 3.70×105 units/mg.
