Description

Inulasalsolin is a insecticide with antifeedant activity, which is isolated from the plant Inula salsoloides. Inulasalsolin reduces the feeding behavior of third-instar Plutella xylostella larvae. Inulasalsolin induces the death of third-instar Plutella xylostella larvae and vegetable aphids. Inulasalsolin is applicable to pest control research[1].

In Vitro

Inulasalsolin (0.031-5.0 mg/mL) exhibits potent anti-feedant activity against third instar Plutella xylostella L. larvae, with an AFC50 of 0.030 mg/mL and a 98.9% anti-feedant rate at 5.0 mg/mL[1].
Inulasalsolin (0.031-0.50 mg/mL) has insecticidal activity against third instar Plutella xylostella L. larvae in a dipping assay, with an LC50 of 0.19 mg/mL, and mortality rises with higher concentrations and longer exposure times[1].
Inulasalsolin exhibits potent insecticidal activity against Brevicoryne brassicae L. larvae in a topical application assay, with an LD50 of 0.021 μg/aphid and a 94.4% mortality rate at the tested dose[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
