DOPE-PEG2000-TAASGVRSMH is used for surface modification of liposomes and lipid nanoparticles to achieve tumor vascular targeted drug delivery and molecular imaging.
Structural composition:
(1) DOPE: a phospholipid with two oleoyl chains that inserts into lipid bilayers, acting as a hydrophobic membrane anchor and providing pH-responsive fusogenic activity;
(2) PEG2000: a hydrophilic polymer chain that creates a steric barrier reducing opsonization and reticuloendothelial system (RES) clearance, thereby prolonging blood circulation half-life;
(3) TAASGVRSMH peptide: a tumor-homing peptide identified through in vivo phage display that specifically binds to tumor blood vessel endothelial cells, enabling active targeting of tumor vasculature for enhanced drug accumulation at tumor sites.
