Description

Octocog alfa (ADVATE; BAY 81-8973; Kovaltry) is a standard half-length recombinant coagulation factor FVIII replacement therapy that also functions as a thrombin generation modulator. Octocog alfa regulates thrombin generation-related parameters in vitro and is used in studies related to severe hemophilia A[1][2][3].

In Vivo

At a single dose of 50 IU/kg, octocog alfa maintains the average FVIII activity level above 40 IU/dL for less than 1 day, above 10 IU/dL for less than 2 days, and causes no significant changes in coagulation biomarker levels before and after infusion[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
