Vidarabine monohydrate is a Purine nucleoside derivative and Antiviral agent. The triphosphate derivative of Vidarabine monohydrate competitively inhibits DNA polymerase, incorporates into the terminus of elongating DNA molecules, and interferes with the early steps of viral DNA synthesis.
