UDP-rhamnose is produced by the action of the dual enzymes UDP-Glucose 4,6-Dehydrogenase (UG4,6-Dh) and UDP-4-Keto-6-Deoxyglucose-3,5-Epimerase/-4-Reductase (U4k6dG-ER)[1].
UDP-rhamnose can form polysaccharides and is involved in the interaction between fungi and hosts, including adhesion, recognition, virulence and biofilm formation[1].
