2-Phenyl-2-propanol
Based on 1 Customer Validation
2-Phenyl-2-propanol is a volatile signaling compound released by rhizosphere microorganisms, and also a key product of the selective oxidation of cumene. 2-Phenyl-2-propanol alters primary root structure, regulates the expression of auxin and (±)-Jasmonic acid (HY-122464) responsive genes, and affects cell division. 2-Phenyl-2-propanol reduces the primary root length, lateral root number, lateral root density, and aboveground fresh weight of *Arabidopsis thaliana*. 2-Phenyl-2-propanol is commonly used in research related to cosmetics, pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other fields.

Biological Activity
2-Phenyl-2-propanol (PP) is the main product of the cumene hydroperoxide decomposition reaction catalyzed by 30-MnO2/g-C3N4-M, and it is also a key product of the selective oxidation of cumene[1].
2-Phenyl-2-propanol (25-100 μM; 7 days) regulates the growth and root architecture of *Arabidopsis thaliana* seedlings in a concentration-dependent manner, while modulating auxin, cell division and jasmonic acid signaling pathways[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
2-Phenyl-2-propanol (1.25-5.0 g/kg; dermal; single dose) has an acute dermal LD50 of 4.3 g/kg in rabbits, with mortality and systemic toxic effects observed only at the 5.0 g/kg dose, and dose-dependent skin irritation across all tested doses[3].
