Puupehenone
Puupehenone is a cytotoxic and antifungal agent present in various marine sponge species. Puupehenone exerts cytotoxic activity against leukemia, lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer cells, and inhibits the growth of Candida albicans. Puupehenone can be used in research related to cancers such as leukemia, lung cancer, colon cancer and breast cancer.

Puupehenone is the major metabolite isolated from two unreported Hawaiian sponges of the genus *Hyrtios*, and its structure is confirmed by comparison of NMR spectra with a standard reference substance[1].
Puupehenone exhibits cytotoxicity against P388 mouse leukemia cells, A-549 human lung cancer cells, HCT-8 human colon cancer cells, and MCF-7 human breast cancer cells in vitro[2].
Puupehenone inhibits the growth of Candida albicans in vitro, with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 3 μg/mL[2].
Puupehenone (compound 1) (serial dilution; 3 days) weakly inhibits the growth of bovine aortic endothelial cells and various human tumor cell lines, with IC50 values ranging from 5 μM to >15 μM, and shows no selectivity for endothelial cells[3].
