Levofloxacin N-oxide is an oxidation product and impurity of Levofloxacin (HY-B0330), and it is a non-mutagen. Under specific concentration conditions with the addition of S-9 mixture, Levofloxacin N-oxide increases structural chromosomal aberrations in hamster lung cells.

Activité biologique
Levofloxacin N-oxide (250-1000 μg/mL; 6 h) induces structural chromosomal aberrations in CHL cells only at a concentration of 1000 μg/mL under conditions metabolically activated by the S-9 mixture[1].
