(+)-Eseroline
(+)-Eseroline is an opioid agonist and adenylate cyclase inhibitor (Ki=6-8 μM). (+)-Eseroline binds specifically to μ-opioid receptors and δ-opioid receptors on rat brain cell membranes (Ka=0.7 μM). (+)-Eseroline exhibits only weak activity in various mouse analgesic models and can be used for studies on pain-related mechanisms.

(+)-Eseroline (0-100 μM; 10 min) inhibits adenylate cyclase activity in NG108-15 cell membranes with a Ki of 6-8 μM, acts as a lower-efficacy opiate agonist relative to (-)-Eseroline, and functions as an antagonist of both (-)-Eseroline and the opioid peptide dalamid[1].
