Sevirumab (MSL-109) is a human IgG1 neutralizing monoclonal antibody against cytomegalovirus (CMV). Sevirumab recognizes CMV gH complexes and inhibits CMV replication with an EC50 of 0.3 μg/mL.

Sevirumab (MSL-109) perturbs the gH/gL homodimer rather than abolishing dimerization. Sevirumab may be splaying the dimer apart at sufficient distance to reduce fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) and ultimately prevent proper gH/gL function[2].
