Neomethymycin (sufficient time to yield product; assessed over culture growth phase) is predominately produced alongside methymycin via biotransformation of 10-deoxymethyonolide by pre-log phase cultures of Streptomyces venezuelae strain DHS2001, with a combined methymycin product yield of 66% (15% overall from (R)-Roche ester)^[1].
