    Sakacin P inducer peptide

    Bacterial Infection
SppIP (Sakacin P inducer peptide) is a peptide consisting of 19 amino acids . SppIP is an essential inducer for sakacin P production . SppIP can induce the expression of PRRSV GP5 and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein in recombinant Lactobacillus plantarum. SppIP can activate the transcription of the sakacin P promoter to drive the expression of downstream heterologous capsid proteins, increasing the proportion of PCV2d capsid proteins displayed on the cell surface of Lactobacillus plantarum. SppIP can be used in studies related to sakacin P induction .

PNGase A is a β-aspartylglucosaminidase and N-glycan-releasing enzyme. PNGase A catalyzes hydrolysis reactions to release the N-glycan moiety from glycoproteins or glycopeptides. PNGase A releases N-linked oligosaccharides containing core α-1,3 fucose from glycopeptides. PNGase A undergoes self-deglycosylation, which may cause contamination of endogenous glycan structures in N-glycan analysis. PNGase A cannot be heterologously expressed in recombinant expression systems; it can be extracted and purified from almond seeds .

Lyngbyatoxin B is a complex compound in a versatile biosynthetic pathway from the marine cyanobacterium Moorea producens. By heterologously expressing the lyngbyatoxin biosynthetic pathway in Escherichia coli, lyngbyatoxin A (25.6 mg/L) and its precursor indolactam-V (150 mg/L) were successfully produced. This approach confirmed the biosynthetic route of lyngbyatoxin and laid a chemical foundation for future pathway engineering. In addition, the successful production of lyngbyatoxin A in E. coli opens the possibility for heterologous expression and characterization of other cyanobacterial natural products.

Tachyplesin II is a broad-spectrum cationic antimicrobial peptide. Tachyplesin II has significant inhibitory effects on Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and some fungi. Tachyplesin II binds to bacterial membrane lipopolysaccharides through its positive charge, disrupting membrane integrity and causing leakage of cellular contents. Tachyplesin II can bind to DNA grooves, inhibiting microbial replication, and also suppressing HIV-1 replication and the proliferation of liver cancer cells .
