Aconitic acid (NSC 7616) is an Antibacterial agent. Aconitic acid exerts dose-dependent inhibitory effects on Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. Aconitic acid can be used in studies related to bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Aconitic acid (10-80 μg/mL) exhibits dose-dependent in vitro antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus aureus, with the highest potency at 10 μg/mL (20 mm inhibition zone for E. coli and P. aeruginosa)[2].
