NEU-5123 is a human kinase inhibitor with potent inhibitory activity to several kinases. NEU-5123 is a Trypanosome proliferation inhibitor. NEU-5123 can be used for the research of infection^[1].

All Parasite Isoforms :

In Vitro

NEU-5123 (Compound 18a) potently inhibits Trypanosoma brucei proliferation (PEC₅₀ = 7.7), exhibits low toxicity to human lung fibroblast MRC5 cells (PTC₅₀ = 4.8) with a SI of 850^[1].
NEU-5123 (5 μM) potently inhibits 14 human kinases (defined as >50% inhibition) in a panel of 45 human kinases^[1].

In Vivo

NEU-5123 (Compound 18a) (10 mg/kg, i.p., daily for 5 days from day 3 to day 7 post-infection) does not achieve cure but extends the average survival time of mice by 8.8 days in female NMRI mice infected with Trypanosoma brucei STIB795^[1].
