Cuprizone is a copper chelating agent that forms a deep blue copper ketone complex with copper (II). The copper ketone reaction can be used in colorimetric tests for the presence of trace copper. Desmethylastemizole is also a Histamine H1 receptor antagonist. Desmethylastemizole significantly blocks hERG K + channels and also inhibits histone-lysine N-methyltransferase EZH2 activity.
