Soft tissue sarcomas

Definition:

Soft-tissue sarcomas (STS) are a rare and heterogeneous group of tumors with mesenchymal origin, including muscle, endothelium, cartilage. Several common STSs have recognized translocations, which represent clinical targets. In addition to translocations, other genomic changes and epigenetic mechanisms have been shown to be involved in the histogenesis of STS as well as other cancers.
