Species: Mus musculus
About Chuk
This gene has 8 transcripts (splice variants), 266 orthologues, 3 paralogues and is associated with 112 phenotypes. Ubiquitous expression in CNS E18 (RPKM 12.2), CNS E14 (RPKM 11.6) and 28 other tissues.
Summary
Enables protein kinase activity. Involved in positive regulation of interferon-alpha production; protein phosphorylation; and response to virus. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including mammary gland development; osteoclast differentiation; and positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB signaling. Located in cytoplasmic side of plasma membrane. Part of CD40 receptor complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; and limb. Used to study fetal encasement syndrome. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in fetal encasement syndrome and prostate Cancer. Orthologous to human CHUK (component of inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa B kinase complex).
