cathepsin K |
Cathepsin K potently degrades type I collagen, osteonectin, type II collagen, MMP-9, and TGF-β1, with unique triple helix cleavage activity for type I collagen[1].
Cathepsin K (24-96 h) potently degrades type I collagen, achieving full solubilization of adult cortical bone collagen by 96 h, and generates the NTX epitope with complete efficiency, with optimal activity at pH 6.0[2].
Cathepsin K potently degrades the noncollagenous bone matrix protein osteonectin, but does not degrade fibronectin[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
