Flagellin from S. typhimurium is a potent TLR5 agonist. Flagellin from S. typhimurium activates immune cells and inhibits the activity of melanoma cells. Flagellin from S. typhimurium activates the NF-κB pathway dependent on the TLR5/MyD88/TRAF6 signaling axis in cells. Flagellin from S. typhimurium induces a proinflammatory response in the primary chicken hepatocyte-nonparenchymal cell co-culture system by promoting IL-8 production, inhibiting IL-10 production, and increasing the IFN-γ/IL-10 ratio. Flagellin from S. typhimurium can be used for research on melanoma and inflammatory diseases .

Human TLR5 mRNA encodes the human toll like receptor 5 (TLR5) protein, a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLR5 recognizes bacterial flagellin, the principal component of bacterial flagella and a virulence factor. The activation of this receptor mobilizes the nuclear factor NF-kappaB, which in turn activates a host of inflammatory-related target genes.

Antibacterial agent 284 (Compound 7) is an Antibacterial agent. Antibacterial agent 284 has a zinc-binding structure and potent inhibitory activity against Legionella pneumophila metalloprotease ProA (IC50: 0.96 μM) with zinc-binding structure. Antibacterial agent 284 significantly inactivates the cleavage of collagen IV and flagellin (ProA substrates) and reduces immune evasion from the TLR5-NF-κB pathway and PMN-mediated inflammation in human lung tissue explants. Antibacterial agent 284 is promising for Legionnaires' disease research .

Synonyms: LPS, from Salmonella enterica (Serotype abortus equi)
Lipopolysaccharides, from S. enterica (Salmonella enterica) serotype Abortusequi are lipopolysaccharide endotoxins and TLR-4 activators derived from the Abortusequi serotype of S. enterica, classified as a mutated R-type LPS, which can activate pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMP) of the immune system and induce cellular secretion of migrasomes. Lipopolysaccharides, from S. enterica serotype abortus equi consist of core oligosaccharide (core oligosaccharide) and lipid A (Lipid A). S. enterica serotype Abortusequi is a major pathogen causing abortion in mares and is also associated with neonatal sepsis, multiple abscesses, orchitis, and polyarthritis in equids. It is primarily grouped based on lipopolysaccharides (O-antigen) and flagellin (H-antigen) .
It is recommended to prepare a solution with concentration ≥2 mg/mL. Vortex thoroughly for more than 10 minutes. Due to the adsorption characteristics of LPS, silanized container or low adsorption centrifuge tubes should be used for aliquoting and storage, and mix thoroughly before use.
