Adcy8 - adenylate cyclase 8 Gene
Also Known as AC8
Species: Mus musculus
Summary
Enables calcium- and calmodulin-responsive Adenylate Cyclase activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular chemical homeostasis; cellular response to morphine; and regulation of synaptic plasticity. Acts upstream of or within long-term memory. Located in several cellular components, including basolateral plasma membrane; neuronal cell body membrane; and postsynaptic density. Is integral component of presynaptic membrane. Is active in Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; glutamatergic synapse; and hippocampal mossy fiber to CA3 synapse. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; cardiovascular system; nervous system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human ADCY8 (Adenylate Cyclase 8).
