Tryptone is a peptide-rich bacterial culture medium component that can regulate bacterial cell surface proteins and biofilm-related genes. Tryptone promotes the expression and assembly of bacterial adhesion proteins (such as LapA and LapF) by providing peptide substances as structural factors, enhancing cell surface hydrophobicity and intercellular adhesion, thereby stabilizing the biofilm matrix and supporting the maturation and maintenance of bacterial biofilms. The peptide mixture contained in Tryptone can specifically regulate the transcription of bacterial adhesion-related genes (such as activating LapA and inhibiting LapF), affecting the synthesis and localization of biofilm structural proteins .

Ristocetin A sulfate (Ristomycin III) is a glycopeptide antibiotic that binds to von Willebrand factor (VWF) and bacterial cell wall components. Ristocetin A sulfate interferes with the biosynthesis of bacterial peptidoglycan by inhibiting transpeptidation. As an inducer of platelet adhesion and aggregation, Ristocetin A sulfate drives conformational changes by binding to the A1 domain of VWF, thereby activating downstream signaling pathways and promoting cytoskeletal rearrangement. Ristocetin A sulfate not only enhances platelet adhesion and spreading on immobilized VWF, but also induces the formation of asymmetric dimers with anticooperativity between platelets and plasma VWF. Ristocetin A sulfate is widely used in studies related to thromboembolic diseases and bacterial infections .

Synonyms: Dihydroquinine
Hydroquinine (Dihydroquinine) is an anti-bacterial agent that inhibits both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Hydroquinine inhibits the growth of multidrug-resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa via the suppression of the arginine deiminase pathway genes. Hydroquinine inhibits Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium berghei. Hydroquinine displays anti-malarial and demelanizing activities. Hydroquinine effectively induces specific RND-type efflux pump systems in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, particularly the MexCD-OprJ and MexXY efflux pumps. Hydroquinine inhibits Pseudomonas aeruginosa adhesion and biofilm formation. Hydroquinine serves as a precursor for derivatives such as C9 epihydroquinine, 9-acetoxy-10,11-dihydroquinine, and 10,11-dihydroquinine monohydrochloride .

Defensin HNP-3 human is an α-defensin stored in the azurophilic granules of human neutrophils. Defensin HNP-3 human exerts broad-spectrum bactericidal, antifungal and antiviral activities mainly by forming bacterial membrane pores, and acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes and T cells. Defensin HNP-3 human maintains epithelial integrity to support periodontal tissue homeostasis, and exerts concentration-dependent effects on epithelial cell proliferation, adhesion and bacterial adhesion. Defensin HNP-3 human targets solid tumors and leukemia by inducing single-strand DNA breaks and membrane permeabilization in tumor cells via electrostatic binding and pore formation. Defensin HNP-3 human is abundant in human tongue squamous cell carcinoma and neutrophils infiltrating oral squamous cell carcinoma. Defensin HNP-3 human can be applied to research related to periodontitis and human tongue squamous cell carcinoma .

Synonyms: Sialic acid aldolase (CgNal)
N-Acetylneuraminate lyase (CgNal) (Sialic acid aldolase (CgNal)) is a rate-limiting enzyme in bacteria metabolism that catalyzes the reversible aldol cleavage of sialic acid, and it regulates the overall metabolism of the bacterial sialic acid catabolic pathway. N-Acetylneuraminate lyase (CgNal) catalyzes the reversible condensation reaction of pyruvate and N-acetyl-d-mannosamine (ManNAc) to produce sialic acid N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac). The protein expression of N-Acetylneuraminate lyase is downregulated at the translational level under the regulation of methyl methanesulfonate, and this change significantly impairs the adhesion and invasion abilities of bacteria to eukaryotic cells. N-Acetylneuraminate lyase is a key virulence-related protein in various pathogenic bacteria and is considered an antibiotic drug target. N-Acetylneuraminate lyase (CgNal) can be used in studies of invasive (extraintestinal) infectious diseases, Crohn's disease, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections .

Sapindoside B is a substance with hepatoprotective activity, and also acts as a cytochrome P-450 (cytochrome P-450) inhibitor, antibacterial agent and membrane-disrupting agent. Sapindoside B reversibly inhibits the content of cytochrome P-450 in liver microsomes, suppresses the phenobarbital-induced increase in enzyme content, reduces the production of active metabolites mediated by cytochrome P-450, and alleviates hepatotoxic injury. Sapindoside B binds to Cutibacterium acnes lipase, reduces lipase activity, inhibits biofilm formation, and decreases bacterial adhesion. Sapindoside B exhibits cytotoxicity against human cancer, liver cancer, leukemia and glioblastoma cells. Sapindoside B inhibits mycelial growth of phytopathogenic fungal strains, possesses antibacterial activity against dermatophytes, and also has hemolytic/membrane-lytic activity. Sapindoside B can be used in research related to liver injury, Cutibacterium acnes biofilm-associated infections, gastric cancer, carcinoma, promyelocytic leukemia, glioblastoma, apple scab and grape gray mold .
