Acrodermatitis enteropathica

Definition:

Acrodermatitis enteropathica (AEZ) is an autosomal recessive disorder of zinc deficiency caused by defects of a zinc transporter gene. The disorder is characterized by intermittent simultaneous occurrence of diarrhea and dermatitis with failure to thrive.
