Definition:

Aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) family is cytosolic isoenzyme responsible for oxidizing intracellular aldehydes, thus contributing to the oxidation of retinol to retinoic acid in early stem cell differentiation.Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 is a tumor stem cell-associated marker in lung cancer.
