UDP-galactose translocator
Definition:
Transports uridine diphosphate galactose (UDP-galactose) from the cytosol into Golgi vesicles where glycosyltransferases function, including galactosyltransferases that catalyze globotriaosylceramide/globoside (Gb3Cer) synthesis from lactosylceramide.
