2-Tetralone
Based on 1 Customer Validation
2-Tetralone (Beta-Tetralone) is a cyclic bis-sterically hindered ketone and a ketone derivative of tetrafluoramine. 2-Tetralone exhibits anticancer activity, inhibits cell migration and proliferation, and induces apoptosis. 2-Tetralone is often used as a pharmaceutical intermediate in studies related to organic synthesis.

In Vitro
2-Tetralone (Beta-Tetralone) (100-300 μM; 48 h) induces cell death, inhibits cell migration and proliferation, and triggers apoptosis in MCF-7 breast cancer cells [1].
2-Tetralone serves as a precursor for chlorine-substituted fused ring systems and optically enriched 2-tetralols, and acts as a substrate for asymmetric reduction by the secondary alcohol dehydrogenase (TeSADH) mutant from Thermoanaerobacter pseudoethanolicus to produce (S)-2-tetralol[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
