Cimicosis

Definition:

Cimicosis is an ectoparasitosis caused by the bite of bed bugs, belonging to the family Cimicidae. Although the Cimicidae comprises more than 90 species, only two species, Cimex lectularius and C. hemipterus, readily feed on humans. Evidence for disease transmission by this blood-sucking insect is lacking.
