Median effective dose (ED50)

Definition:

Median effective dose (ED50) is a dose or concentration of an agent that produces a biological response. In quantity reaction, it refers to the amount of drug that can cause 50% of the maximum reaction intensity, and in mass reaction, it refers to the amount of drug that can cause 50% of the experimental subjects to have a positive reaction.
