Mosquito-borne viral encephalitis

Definition:

Mosquito-borne viral encephalitides are infections of the central nervous system caused by arboviruses (arthropod-borne viruses) and transmitted by mosquitoes. Arboviruses are zoonotic viruses and consist of taxonomically different viruses, including flavivirus, alphavirus and bunyavirus.
