Ubiquitin Reconstruction

Definition

Ubiquitin Reconstruction is used to study membrane protein interactions in the split ubiquitin system. In this system, the bait and prey are each fused to two different ubiquitin domains (Cub and Nub), and the interaction between the bait and prey reconstitutes the split ubiquitin molecule, which drives transcription of a reporter gene induced by specific proteases.
